Q&A: How can I make sure people can tell that I’m a *******?
Question by : How can I make sure people can tell that I’m a *******?
So I’m a *******, but everyone around me always thinks I’m straight. Straight guys are always trying to flirt with me but all the lesbians I know automatically assume I’m just another straight girl until I come out to them directly. I always go completely under the gaydar. It doesn’t help that I don’t exactly have great gaydar myself. There are a few people I knew for two years before finding out they were openly ***. I don’t have a hard time talking or flirting with other lesbians but I can almost never get to that point because no one can tell that I’m interested. And I’ve tried just openly announcing that I’m a *******, but it always comes off as too blunt and direct, and like I’m just fishing for ***, which really puts other people off. Are there any ways I can subtly broadcast my sexuality? And please don’t say “just wear some rainbow accessories” because I wear rainbow pins on my purse and sometimes on my shirt but people never notice them. Is there anything else I can do?

just be a nice person you will attract nice people and then you can be open with them and if they find you interesting you can weed out the straight ones and grab yourself a nice *******
good luck

I used to have this same problem (minus the guys hitting on me). But then I got really involved with my high school’s ***-Straight Alliance and came out to enough people that everyone just sort of knew that I was ***. I also got a short haircut this year, which might have had something to do with it. Not that stereotypes are always true, but if you’re a girl with a short haircut, people sometimes assume things…
I’m sort of worried about this, myself, though. I’m going to college next year and I want to save myself the trouble of having to come out to my roommate. I keep playing this game of “How many plaid shirts will I have to pack before she knows that I’m a *******?”
Get a nice rainbow necklace and wear it almost all the time. Or a bracelet. Stuff on your body, as opposed to on your clothing, is more noticeable.
Its all in body language, booboo! A *** friend of mine had the same problem, but he eventually made it clear.
Just keep turning down the guys and bat those eyelashes at the ladies. Maby a sultry smile or provocative stance and you’ll have the chickies in no time!
No, there is no way if you want to look like you`re now. Someone genius should find a resolution, I`m sick and tired of that and don`t ask why some lesbians starts to hate straight men.
Okay, so it’s probably your style that makes everyone think you’re “another straight girl”. If you have longer hair, there’s the obviously the option of getting a short haircut. If you don’t want to alter your hairstyle, you could change your attire. You don’t have to wear basketball shorts and a wifebeater to look like a *******. You could wear looser pants, wear less girly-girl clothing. If you wear jewelry, you might not want to as much. Things like that– nothing too drastic, but it would be subtle enough maybe to change the way other people look at your sexuality.
I hate to suggest style changes because I don’t want to sound stereotypical, but it’s not like I’m generalizing or stereotyping or just plain being ignorant because I’m a ******* myself. I hope this helps.
Lets try a larger rainbow necklace or something.
Well the only way people pick up me on the gaydar is cause I dress ****-ish. Straight guys still hit on me still theyre just desperate I guess lol. But I wouldn’t change your whole wardrobe just cause you wanna be noticed as *******. I also hang out with a bunch of lesbians and *** boys so they assume im ******* too. If there is a *** pride center where you live I would recommend visiting it. Maybe you can meet a girl there.
Wear a rainbow bracelet or you could get the shirt from i think spencers that says nobody knows im a *******
or if hot girls are around be like damn shes hot!
